==History==
''Nigerian Entertainment Today'' went live online on November 23, 2009. In April 2013, while the site ranked 33rd on Alexa's most viewed Nigerian websites, a certain Rocco Mancini hacked the site's security, made it inaccessible and demanded a $1200 ransom which was later dropped to $200.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=TheNetNg Online Gets HACKED! NET’s publisher, Adekunle Ayeni〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://olorisupergal.com/after-2-years-adekunle-ayeni-nigerian-entertainment-today-publisher-shares-his-success-story-at-the-creativesessions/ )〕 would not give in to the hacker’s demands, and relaunched NET on its current domain name requiring traffic to the URL be built all over again.
By 2014, NET was back on Alexa’s list of top 100 websites in Nigeria.
In April 2013, ''NET'' held the maiden edition of its Nigerian Entertainment Conference], the umbrella summit of the country’s entertainment industry.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=WordPress )〕 The opening speech at the edition was read by Director General of Nigerian Economic Summit Group, Frank Nweke Jr. The 2014 edition had speakers such as Professor Pat Utomi, 2Face Idibia and Omotola Jalade Ekeinde.
